Barone performed the role of Gail Cunningham in The Shoes from Seinfeld season 4. Barone was a chef named Elaine Benes who wanted shoes. Then in the 90s, Barone was a regular in the show Carol & Company alongside Carol Burnett. Barone performed the role of the ex-wife of Carol Willick Ross Geller during the first Friends appearance. Jane Sibbett took over her character after Barone left the show in order to concentrate on her full-time job. Barone was a guest in The Jeff Foxworthy Show in the first season (from 1995 until 1996), and then on The War at Home from 2005 until 2007. Barone was a co-star in Daddio (2000).
